So, messing around a bit with Adventures Dark & Deep, in anticipation of playtesting some it with Stonehell Dungeon, I wondered what the odds were of rolling certain types of characters.
Even using the 4d6/Drop One method, it's virtually impossible to roll a Paladin. Wow. Cavaliers, Rangers, Barbarians, and Illusionists have less than 10% of a chance of being rolled (and only Barbarians are higher than 5%). Fortunately, you can almost always guarantee a character of one of the big four.
